Did you know our New Fellows Program offers botanist led pollen walks for Allergy Fellows? In late July, Sam Wauford, Eastern Regional Sales Manager and botanist, along with Matthew Brennan, Account Executive for NJ/NY/CT, conducted a pollen walk for eight Allergy Fellows in training from Montifiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. Finding weeds in the urban sprawl of New York City can be challenging, so the group visited the New York Botanical Garden where they reviewed common allergenic plants. This hands on experience was both educational and fun.
After the walk Dr. Maria Gans shared, “We greatly appreciate your taking the time to teach us. As Allergists in training, it is very important for us to have this type of practical knowledge and you helped fill that gap for us. We also greatly appreciate your planning the entire afternoon out so well and having those books for us to facilitate our learning.”
